The Renato Musto Young Researcher’s Award is dedicated to a scientist and intellectual with multifaceted cultural interests and passion. It aims to give continuity to his project of combining humanistic, social and artistic knowledge with that of scientific research.

The award is also a recognition of the efforts of a man who has always invested in training young people.

The Renato Musto prize, edition 2018 focuses on: Music/Video/Technology

It will be divided into two sections:

  1. Compositions on support; audio-visual documents of installations; audio-video compositions on the theme of migration;

    With this theme, the Promoting and the Prize Committees intend to stimulate original artistic proposals aimed at representing the conditions and the world of refugees, displaced persons, asylum seekers, the drama of escapes and migrations. 

  2. Compositions on support; audio-visual documents of installations; audio-video compositions on a free theme.

The prize consists of a diploma and a sum of € 750.00 (seven hundred and fifty) per section, to be considered gross of any withholding required by law, made available by prof. Eliana Minicozzi and assigned to the most worthy candidates.

The choice of the winner will be based on the evaluation of the material sent by the candidate and the excellence and originality of the composition work. Each candidate can compete for only one of the indicated sections.

The presence of the winner (s) during the award ceremony is a mandatory requirement. The Award Ceremony will take place in Naples, on 23 November 2018.

The Prize Committee can assign a single prize of 1,500€ to only one of the two categories or decide not to award the prize if there are no eligible candidates that meet the requirements of excellence.

Requirements for participation

Candidates must:

  1. To be less than 39 years old on the deadline for submission of applications;
  2. If granted, commit him/herself to present and perform his/her work at the award ceremony, as indicated above.

Any candidate who intends to participate in the call must send his/her application in .pdf format to the Award Secretariat at the email address: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. no later than 30/07/2018.

The application form must include:

  1. Personal data of the candidate;
  2. Addresses (mailing address and e-mail, phone number of the candidate);
  3. Explicit declaration of authorization to process personal data.

The application must be accompanied by the following documentation:

  1. Text document in which the following are indicated: the section for which it competes, the title of the piece, a brief description of the same in .pdf format;
  2. The piece with which it competes, to be sent as a stereo file in .wave 44.1 kHz / 16-bit format, via wetranfer to the address This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.;
  3. Photocopy of a valid identity document.

The Secretariat of the Prize will guarantee the anonymity of the works presented to the Prize Committee.

The presentation of the application and of the attached documentation implies the acceptance by the candidates of all the norms stated in the present announcement.

Exclusion conditions

Spouses and relatives (up to the third degree) of the members of the Prize Committee and/or of the Promotion Committee cannot participate in the selection process.

Incomplete applications or applications from candidates who do not meet the requirements will be considered void. Unsolicited materials will not be examined.

An unanimous judgment on the winners will have to be reached by 23/10/2018 and will be communicated to the winners by e-mail and made public on the website www.puntoorg.net.

The judgment of the commission is undisputable on the merits.

The award, realised every year by puntOorg International Research Network, is endorsed also for this edition by the University of Naples Federico II.
