The Renato Musto award is dedicated to a scientist with multifaceted intellectual, cultural interest and passions. The award aims to give continuity to the project of Renato Musto to combine humanistic, social and artistic knowledge, with that one of scientific research. The award is also a recognition of the efforts of a man who has always invested in the education and training of young people.

The prize is awarded every year to a disciplinary domain dear to Renato Musto: from physics to biology, from music to politics and is awarded to a young researcher who has distinguished him/herself with his/her scientific work.

The Renato Musto award 2019: Genomics and Physics will be devoted to studies on fundamental aspects of the biology of eukaryotic genome carried out with quantitative and genome-wide methods. Topics may regard the study on genome maintenance and duplication, genome structure, genome functional regulation or genome information-encoding capability.

The Prize consists of a Certificate and a monetary award of 1,500 EUR (this sum is gross, before any withholding taxes required by law) made available by Professor Eliana Minicozzi, Renato Musto's wife.

The selection of the winner will be based on curriculum vitae and excellence and originality of the research works as documented by scientific publications and applicant specific contribution to them.
